Clark Howard Explains Why Going Solar Adds Up

Solar panels can pay off now more than ever says local celebrity and money management guru Clark Howard. Clark cites a recent report from the Berkley National Laboratory which found that homes with solar panels sold for $17,000 dollars more, on average, than those without solar. So now not only does adding solar to your home help you decrease your monthly utility bill, solar also saves you money when you are ready to move out by increasing your overall home value!

The news clip shows workers installing a solar thermal system on top of Clark’s home in Atlanta. Solar thermal works when the heat from the sun warms up a series of tubes that are filled with an antifreeze (glycol in most cases) which is circulated into your home’s water tank and warms the water inside through a thermal heat process.
